Alingment problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can oversize tires cause alignment problems?  I have had to get three alignments in the past eight months due to potholes and sliding off the road because of ice.  The local Dodge-Chrysler dealership said I was missing Cam bolts and nuts and would not align my Jeep.  They also said the tires are part of the problem, they are 31x10.5/15.  Are they being honest or just giving me bull?  No one else ever mentioned this when I had it worked on.

larger tires speeds up wear on steering components, i have the same tires, steering a little loose as well, keep joints lubed, ck ball joints/bearings,bushings. unfortunately alignments are consistintely needed on some cars/models, i always on top of my jeep, but, i'm also a mechanic so i dont charge myself.
