All you have to do is disconnect the battery, pull the airbag fuse (located either in the fuse panel inside the vehicle, or in the fuse panel under the hood) or disconnect the yellow wiring that runs to the airbag. Removing the airbag itself is fairly easy, usually 1-2 screws accessed from behind. Reinstalling is also simple. The biggest thing is to work with the battery disconnected or fuse pulled so it does not accidentally deploy.

Thank you. I bought the book it kind of gave me the ideal of how to do the job and you are correct. I am lost because the book says there are springs with clips located in that same spot on the back side of the steering wheel but I don't see any thing like that in that area. I do have the fuse and the battery dissconnected.
