Hello my good people,  t would sure be appreciated if someone who
has experienced my problem could help me solve it. I recently bought
a 78 cutlass with a pretty radical 350 rocket in it. I rebuilt the carb and

Have you put a new fuel pump on it?

Check the power to the ignition coil when the key is returned to the run position, this kinda sounds electrical too me.

Check the timing but it may be a fuel delivery problem. Check the fuel pressure if you can and replace the fuel filter. That you rebuilt the carb and it now will not run should be a clue! Maybe a stuck needle or float.

So some time has passed and I did actually figure out my issue. Sorry for not catching back up. The car would fire with no continuous spark after that. We'll a pon taking the starter out 5 times and replacing all the wire ends I somehow confused the wire that controls the dummy lights when the key is in the run position. Not the start position, but the run position(accessories) I ran some real long wires, pulled the starter out my wheel well and ran the wires while watching my multi meter and turning the car over. I eventually had a eureka moment. Thanks for your help. It was in fact electrical
