trouble starting 1951 buick

Asked by justinp0318 Apr 30, 2020 at 08:31 PM about the 1951 Buick Roadmaster

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1951 quick roadmaster that has been sitting for over 10 years and i
have rebuilt the carb, changed oil, and   spark plugs. when i go to start it, it
turns over then sounds like it is starting then stops and makes a noise as if
something is stuck. i was wondering what it could be?

Is the carb getting gas? Have you checked the points, cap, rotor and ignition timing?
