1992 Buick Roadmaster with the 5.7L V8 engine

Asked by Apr 18, 2017 at 02:37 PM about the 1992 Buick Roadmaster Limited Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1992 Buick Roadmaster with the 5.7L V8 engine. The problem that
I’ve been having with it is the SES comes on whenever I back off the gas
when doing more that 60mph. The car still runs smoothly, drives well but
the SES comes on and stays on. Once I turn the car off, then back on the
SES clears and the car runs fine still. Anyone have any ideas on where to
start trouble shooting this issue?

You need to have the trouble codes read to know what is going on. Post them here and we will try to help.

You'll either have to use a paperclip or a scan tool that reads OBD I vehicles to get the two digit trouble code(s). There are many things that can trigger the service engine soon (SES) light. HTH. -Jim
