Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Blazer made a grinding noise when it started so had the starter
replaced.  Two days later same thing happened again.  This time I held the
ignition until it finally started but when it did the motor started bogging down
as if it ran on two cylinders.  I drove it about four blocks and then the horrible
bogging went away.  Came back home and parked it.  Tried to start it again
and the starter makes the same grinding noise.  The lights are working so I
have no idea what is going on.

the teeth are gone on the section of flywheel. also your starter might have not disengaged and stayed on the flywheel for four blocks. maybe the starter needs to be reshimmed to the flywheel too.

My mechanic drove to my home and jumped the battery and it started right up. He seems to think something is draining the battery. Cross my fingers!!
