Starter or something else

Asked by Amanda May 21, 2018 at 07:07 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We can start it but only by jumping it. Won't
crank/turnover on own. Once started it'll run for
about 10 seconds then die, if u press the gas or
brake to put it in gear it dies instantly. I have
suggested its the alternator but everyone claims
that its the fuel pump. Fuel pump kicks on and
keeps running as long as the key is in the on
position. Need help figuring this out.
