1975 e for engine code on a formula?

im looking into bying a formula firebird 1975 .. the problem is it has the 455 on the grill and a e engine code.. i have not been able to check to see if it is a 455 yet.. its at a auction.. vin decoders arent helping. any help if its really suposed to be a 455 car or not apreciated

here is the site that WILL decode your vin... turns out the code "E" is a 350 pontiac 4 bbl carb (1975) http://www.78ta.com/vin1975.htm everything you need to know is there
