how much would it cost to change 1974 vw beetle to automatic

way more than you think!!! the beetle did NOT come with an auto transaxle. they did come with an AUTOSTICK. to change from manual to autostick takes more than just the transaxle. you would need the pedal assembly, transaxle, shifter, pump, fluid bottle, hoses, change oil pump on engine, solenoids, and other odds and ends. cost wise you would be better off buying a newer car! alot of this stuff they don't make any more so you would have to find good used parts, and they are pricey.
