what is expected gas mileage for 1966 vw bug

I had a 1965 (1200cc engine) and averaged around 28 MPG. The 1966 models had a 1300cc engine, so I would expect the mileage to be a little lower. Say 25 - 26 mpg.

The previous responses are very good. However, a lot depends on your driving style. If you have a heavy right foot, you may get 15 mpg. If you are a hyper-miler, you may get 30-35
