have a 2001 New Beetle the flex pipe leaks can It replaces with a straight pipe

In theory you might think that is a good idea, but the flex pipe is there to reduce the flex in the drivetrain and exhaust. Adding a straight pipe will soon stress the exhaust supports and end up breaking, cracking or damaging the other components in the system. So don't do it.
