2004 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab runs great until engine is warmed up.
Drives great for about 10 miles then transmission slips into neutral. Need to
turn off truck until cooled off. During this cooling period, the truck will not start.
Then works fine again. Could this be due to a censor, spark plugs, or
transmission? This is not a 4x4
I doubt it's spark plugs but I had an ignition control module that would fail only when warm. Once the truck cooled off it would start and run again just fine. I am not sure why the transmission would slip into neutral though.
there are bushings in the that the clutch drums ride in and when they get warn out the fluid leaks through and the pump is not able to keep enough pressure in system at low idle and the pressure drops and it goes into neutral. Trans needs rebuild.
How many miles is on your Trk.
