This is located in the throttle body between the air box and the intake manifold. It's usually held on by two or three screws, or a band going around if it's a circular MAF. You don't want to clean this with anything but special Mass Airflow Sensor cleaning spray. This is available from automotive specialty shops. First time I heard of it was when I was working as a mechanic. Cleaning with regular throttle body cleaner, brake cleaner, etc., can lead to sensor damage.

The T-bird did not come with Mass air in 1987 (unless someone swapped in a later engine or converted it and that is highly unlikely) so you do not need to worry about cleaning it. The T-bird engine is speed density rather than mass air metered.
