why wont my 1978 f-150 custom start

Iv got a good battery,good solinoid,good battery cables but all I get is power
to the cab such as,stereo,lights,winsheild wipers,ext. Is this a wire ton bad to
my switch?!

I have not! There is a wire that comes off the solenoid for the switch right?! By replacing this could that help the problem?!
