Chevrolet made a 265 ci V8 (4.3 liter) Not to be confused with the 262 ci V6 (4.3 liter) The 265 V8 was available in early to mid 80's Caprices. Most people hear "4.3 V8" and confuse it with the 4.3 V6, because almost everyone is familiar with the 4.3 V6, but the 8-cylinder 4.3 is much less common.

Yes, Chevrolet made both a 265 V8 and a 267 V8. The 265 was available in the 1950's and then again in Caprices in the 1980's the 267 was only offered between 1979 and 1982.
