my cd player in my 2001 chevy monte carlo ss stop working. it made a contineous winding sound even when I cut the car off after a few minutes it stopped and now it wont play any cds and its saying check cd. it just keep spitting them right back out

I love it when this happens- gives me an excuse to buy a whole new system- a good one

Try putting in a cleaning CD. The lens on the laser might be dirty, and might not be able to read the CD's. It looks like this (follow the link). http://www.amazon.com/Allsop-56500-CD-Laser-Lens-Cleaner/dp/B00000J1QK
The hamster that runs and spins the CD is probably sea sick and barfed all over the inside of the player. Only way if your not experienced at changing parts in the CD player, is to get a new one. The cost of repairs of an old CD Player is more that the cost of a new one.
