Altenator

Asked by Guru9S7BL Jun 30, 2017 at 06:56 PM about the 1983 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced my altenator (3 times), my battery
twice,  and 3 altenator belts. I have changed all my
fuses and my altenator is only putting out 12.4
volts. What can I do? I have paid over $500.00 for
an electrical mechanic. All I got from him was
another new altenator belt and a new pulley.
Please help.

Thanks, but the regulator is built into the altenator, and seeing as I have changed that several times it must be something else.
