My altenator not charging

I have a 92 lumina put a altenator and new battery
in and car just runs off the battery i took the
negative cable off and car cut off so i think i got a
bad altenator or maybe a bad wire that goes to
battery? Anybody ever had this problem

Bad idea to remove battery terminal with vehicle running on vehicles that have computers can short out the computer but you may have gotten lucky and just blown alternator fuse.

True someone told me that but i didn't fry the computer i gotta locate the altenator relay or fuse
