Timing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My timing is off by 4 degrees. It backfires while I'm
driving and sputters and tries to die when I first put
it in gear. The code reader tells me the cylinder 2 is
misfiring. Will getting my computer reflashed help
this any? Or does the timing have to be completely
at 0 before reseting the computer?
