what replacement tires should I buy for San Francisco Bay Area usage?

The EXACT original tires because they are specifically designed to have a low rolling resistance and make the suspension perform to optimal conditions... I know this sounds like common sense... However people will buy off brand tires to replace the originals and then they actually LOSE gas mileage and performance. I know this is shocking just for tires... but not all are equal.
