Transmissions interchange and motor swap

I got a 1997 pontiac bonnieville. With 3.8 and I
want to know if I can swap that motor and
transmission. Over into my 2006 pontiac grand prix
will it work and what all do i have to change with it

YES THE ENGINE CAN WORK IN THE GP BUT THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT. YOU WILL NEED A 2006 3.8L ENGINE HARNESS AND ECM. IF YOU HAVE A 3.4 IN THE GP NOW THERE MAY BE SOME WIRING CHANGES BETWEEN THE BODY HARNESS AND THE ENGINE HARNESS AS WELL. BE PREPARED, AND HAVE SERVICE MANUALS FOR BOTH CARS. THEY CAN BE PRICELESS COMPARED TO PAYING SOMEONE TO DO THE CHANGEOVER YOURSELF.
