black box on outer firewall with prons

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

on the right side of my outer firewall has two small  plastic boxes one white
and one black with prons going different directions, I held down my key to light
testing my starter, and it started smoking ? and I have no idea what it is a
fuse? the one on the left it plugs into 3 separate
wire harnesses that are side by side....? what is it???
