You have a defect in the engine coolant temperature sensor system. Might be the sensor itself or something in the wiring.

Thanks. Per the research that's exactly what I've found. I've taken it to a couple places to inquire and gotten some pretty expensive quotes off over $200 to just replace the censor. Do you have any quotes on what it should cost either way

If a mechanic has diagnosed the problem and is sure the sensor is the problem, replacement cost of $200 doesn't sound unreasonable.

Thanks. It was the sensor and I purchased it from the dealership for $38 and had it installed and the coolant flushed and replaced for $78. So I'm appreciative. I love the $116 total. Jeff at Famous Automotive in Jacksonville, Fl. Is the best. Thanks

Jeff did a thorough check of the wiring and actually showed and explained things to me because I had a lot of questions.
