2017 Chevy Equinox VVT solenoid

Asked by Guru7DK7S Jun 04, 2020 at 01:00 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In April I replaced the both VVT solenoids due to the car not running and
stalling.  Now, the engine light is on again and it is giving the same P0011 code.
The light came on Monday and the car ran fine but then stalled once on me.  It
ran fine all day Tuesday and Wednesday, no check engine light but now check
engine light is back on?  Could the solenoids I put in be faulty?

A P0011 can also mean old or dirty oil. Are you changing your oil every 5000 to 7500K miles. Maybe you have a poor wiring connection to the solenoids? I'd have a shop diagnose the issue before you go and replace the solenoids again.
