Anyone have some insight on a fluctuating oil gauge?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Slowly goes from 40-60, back down to 30ish... back up... Lost a bit of power lately, but thought that could be down to a hole in the exhaust I need to get fixed.  Anyone else have experience with this?  Mine's a 1997 tj se.

I realize this is an old question, to give the best answer possible. Old TJ wranglers have a "real time" oil pressure gauge. So at idle you should see it idle near 20 and while driving you should see between 40 to 50ish, i have seen 60 on mine before under heavy load and almost redline rpm's.
