2012 Beetle Service Safely Belt Light

Asked by oaka1 Jul 20, 2014 at 07:57 AM about the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 VW Beetle. Yesterday the service safety belt on the dash came on, then after a few seconds turned off. This is not the light with the little guy wearing a seat belt, just the seat belt itself. Happens every time I start up the engine. Can this be fixed by a local mech, or do I have to go to the dealership (it's an hour away).

That is a pretty new Beetle- I would just take it to the dealer- wait a year or two before you start farming your nice car out to the local VW mechanic- or find somebody really good to do the oil changes and other maintenance- build a relationship- you will need a smart friend with a wrench-
