2011 Camaro overheating

Asked by JDBCPA Apr 14, 2018 at 01:44 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Camaro overheated last night for the first time.
What are the first things to look at? I’m a woman
that loves muscle cars, but don’t know much about
engines. I’m going to take it in, but don’t want to
get screwed.

when cold, open the radiator cap to check the water/ coolant level. the level should be full to the cap. if not, fill with distilled water till full. also add a little to the reservoir too. look at radiator hoses for leaks and the water pump too. use duct tape to patch any small leaks on the hoses.
