Hi all. I had the starter changed on my 1985 C20 Silverado Suburban. Charged up the battery and she fired up great. I turned her off and gave it another try. This time no sound, no clicks, and smoke!

Thanks! The problem ended up being a battery cable resting on the exhaust manifold.
