My 1998 Honda Civic 4-door automatic seems to bogg down during exceleration especially when it is not up to optimum running temp. It has been doing this for years. Mechanics kept telling me that it was the catalytic converter that needed to be replaced. Estimates on that replacement were $750 so I refused to have it done until 2009 when - I bit the bullet - and had it done. Well, that wasn't the problem. Still doing the same thing. Still driving the car because I have taken good care of it and this seems to be the only on-going issue. Any ideas. Bogged Down in Texas.

air filter? fuel filter? any check engine lights?

You can drive a Civic with out a CC. Check the Fuel Pump and filters

you can drive without a CC but its against federal regulations to do so. so when they have to get their car inspected they will have to put a new one in
