my michanic made a hole in my trunk to let a heavy water leak out?

First of all,a good mechanic would have fixed the seal that caused the leak,not put a hole in your trunk,where there is one many way,there should be a plastic plug under spare tire to drain any water out.

their was nothing under the spare tire, I was told there are more than one vent holes in the rear fenders left and right connected to the trunk, on the inside. this is where the water go threw to the trunk, when the rain is heavy. what is needed is blocking those vents.
