How do I find out what is wrong

On my way to my mechanic my car shut down but
started back up after it started back up I couldn't
accelerate pass 30mph without jumping to H I got a
tune up and coolant in my car with a brand new
radio , but after all that it stopped and is now
making a clicking sound trying to start up

My car just stopped now i have a dead baddery does the alternator cause it to shut down
