Squeak

Asked by Lacie Dawn Jun 27, 2018 at 09:22 AM about the 2004 Pontiac Vibe Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Pontiac vibe has a slight squeal during
take off and initial start up, but only when the a/c
is turned on. A/c is working fine inside cab, it has
Freon, a new cabin filter, and a new belt. I do alot of
my own work, but I'm no mechanic. I don't want to
run through buying unnecessary parts. Which part
could be the issue?

Check the belt tension and tensioner pulley. It may look OK but is slipping under load.
