Asked by David Mar 09, 2018 at 06:52 PM about the 2005 Pontiac Bonneville SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005, 3.8 Bonneville, runs great but at
times when I am slowing down for a stop
light or a turn the motor will just die. I can't
figure out what could be the cause of the
problem. Any suggestions??

Such problem would trigger a "check engine light" on your dash. Do you see it when the engine stalls? If so, a quick scan will tell you what's the problem.

There is no check engine light on or I would have had the codes ran.

Could be a vacuum leak from the the master cylinder (engine stalls when you slow down for a stop or a turn - it's when you use the breaks).
