Can anyone tell me the easiest way to change the ring aroound the door lock on my 2006 Ford E Series Van?

My truck got broken into and they popped the lock, in the process they damaged and lost the retaining ring that holds the lock in place.. The lock still functions, but is dangling precariously. I will be going to the junk yard to get  replacement ring, but how do I remove it and then re-install?

You have to take the door panel off to get to it. Not sure what holds it on, either a clip or a nut of some sort on the back side, have the window up so you can work on it,
