65 ford falcon engine upgrade

If you up grade the motor and give it more power it'll break the rest of the old drive train , tranny , suspension , U- joints , . A rebuilt motor for that year will cost 1,000's . any deviation from original will need customization ( $$$$$$$ )

Your car shared a chassis with the Mustang and they were both death traps. Your "65 was available with a 260 ci V8 and in some form, a 289 V8, both the same block. So conversion from your small I6 is pretty simple, kinda plug-n-play, especially with the stock automatic that was also available with the V8s. If you have an engine that's in good shape, any shop could do the swap in one day. Cost can vary as some mechanics charge a lot and some less..... I recommend that any novice not deal with cars like yours, as parts for those old cars has pretty much dried up. My "66 396 Impala SS convertible was recently down for a year waiting on a part..... BTW, I've seen your car with 427Cobra engines in them.
