Can you tow flat behind motorhome with automatic transmission

In a word, NO! In most automatics today there is no lubrication circulating unless the engine is turning the torque converter. You could tow a mile or two at slow speed if needed, but that would be it.

Most vehicles cannot be towed flat without having a special switch installed that allows you to disconnect the transmission. Not totally sure how it works, but it costs around $500, and I was told about it by a motorhome couple who came to look at my Chrysler Sebring when I was selling it. They wanted to install this device on the Sebring so they could flat-tow it.
