If there was any repair to the coolant system, then possible air pockets that need to be purged out. Thermostat, or temperature sending unit otherwise.

No there hasn't been any work to the cooling system that I kno of I just baught it tho and put plugs and plug wires on it but otherwise no cooling repairs

Check the coolant level to make sure it is full, see if the temp. gauge rides where it is suppose to, If not then I would take it in for a thermostat, and have it pressure checked to insure there are no leaks in the cooling system. Also check that the wire is on the temperature sending unit good. Maybe someone disturbed it when putting in the spark plugs.
