I have a 2008 Honda Civic hybrid with 148,000 miles. Check engine light is
on code is PO 300, PO 302, PO 304. PO 300 says detect multiple misfires.
Buy sell car as is what price? Or should I fix it they’re saying like 1200 to fix?

Well, I need more information. Did it suddenly start running really bad? Or has it progressively gotten worse? If it was sudden, it might just be an ignition coil pack or distributor. That shouldnt cost anywhere near 1200. I would get a second opinion. Because you have a misfire in 3 out of your 4 cylinders. You should probably do a tune up on it anyway. New plugs, wires, distributor, ignition coils, ect. 1200 seems like a fishy number to me.

Car works fine except when I stop the car at a light or stop sign and then start up again then eight bucks a little. When I’m driving long distance I have no problem. Honda said it would cost plugs etc. $1000. May they said 1200 for the codes that I gave you.Got 147 almost 148,000 miles don’t know if I should put the money in or not.

I’d like to join in on this. I also keep getting a misfire on cylinder 2. I’ve got new spark plugs, coil packs installed. Cleaned egr port/valve. Installed new fuel injector as well. I’ve done everything I can think of. It’s an 06 Civic hybrid w/ 114k miles. Also just installed a new IMA battery because the original one was going bad.

Ok, so my opinion on it is that you should get a second opinion. You most likely do not have warranty anymore so try to find an independent shop, but do your research as if you were finding a general practice doctor for yourself, make sure reviews are good and see if you can find people to back them up. Plugs and wires do not cost that much, you are paying for labor. At our Honda dealership where I work, labor is 115 an hour, and the way they calculate hours for a job is nonsense. Find and independent, and get a quote from them. I think the car would be worth putting money into, because you are not going to get anything selling it the way it is. Tell them to test your plugs, wires, coil packs, battery, alternator, fuel rail, fuel pump, and cylinder compression. It shouldn't be more than a few hundred and you will find your issue at the source.

Andrew, ask a dealership about a "Crank Pattern Relearn." That might help.

Thank you. Can you explain a little about what the relearn does? I’ve heard of some people doing it but, never knew what it exactly was.

Andrew, I'm not really an expert either, but it's a program that essentially counts the teeth on the crankshaft. We had a customer that had the same issues that you had, and we eventually just did the relearn and it worked.

Clogged egr passage. unplug egr and misfire will go away to confirm problem is egr related. Easy fix remove intake and clean passages.

Allow me to chip in on the problems I have with my Honda Civic Hybrid 2009 model chassis DAA - FD 3, FD3-1302676 type MXB, The car has been running well at all speeds since 2008 and all over sudden the was andramatic speed drop and this time it's speed can not exceed 40km/hr.Once it reaches 40km/hr there is a lot of jerking and misfiring. Also heard is a knock in the engine probably on the right hand side something like its a drive shaft but not confirmed. We have so far replaced fuel pump, gearbox oil and out in HMMF multi matic, replaced plugs, engine oil but there is still no improvement. The engine check light is randomly seen on and off. The engine level indicator can't go beyond level 2 and when the accelerator is forced to increase speed there is much more misfiring and deep sound. What else could be done on the car?
