Question type: Maintenance & Repair
For no start condition on a low mile / well looked after 97 4.6 LX T/Bird, replaced filter, in tank pump and Crank sensor. Still no start.
Inertia switch, fuses all appear good. Wiring appears undamaged.
Need an idiots guide to fault diagnosis going forward.

First thing,is to make sure you have or have not fire at a plug.
You don't say it does not turn over so I will go from there.Does it try to start? is there any backfire or ignition at all. If you have an old plug, pull the easiest to get to plug wire,, put it on the loose plug and lay it on the block. have someone turn the engine over and see if you have spark at the loose plug. If no, check coil wire, coil etc, If you have a volt meter, make sure you have voltage to the coil with the ignition on. do all that and then give me an update.
Some of these would buck against the starter when they were new. The testing data is not reported on this one yet, but i would interject, That when we noticed the bucking symptom during crank, They were firing on the wrong bank. See what your tests reveal about yours, but when they were new, we had some cam sensors.
