2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Battery Maint

Asked by GuruG2WGT Aug 29, 2020 at 02:26 PM about the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited RWD

Question type: General

Can I hookup a battery tender on a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 2020. The
battery is under the front seat. I would like to hookup the Battery Tender in
the engine compartment where the jump start terminals are located.

1) can I use a battery tender on this car? It has 2 batteries.
2) if yes, can I hookup the battery tender in the engine compartment.

I would think the battery maintainer would be a great idea. Maybe contact the dealership's service department for more information or post your questions on a Jeep owner's forum for answers.

Sometimes I get out of the Jeep and I forget to close the engine, is there something I can do to for the engine to stop running

You can hook up a battery tender to the jump-start posts under the hood and this will maintain both batteries if they're connected in parallel. But both batteries must be of the same voltage, chemistry, age, and type: Wet cell lead acid, Gel, Absorbent glass mat, Deep cycle, Lithium, etc. Otherwise, you'll have to disconnect one to charge the other directly, and this is a pain to do..... A battery tender comes with a pigtail & connector, so you can extend the connection outside the hood and plug it in without going into the engine compartment.
