Can you tell me how to fix my trunk release?

Is it just the interior release button that isn't working, or is it still working if you put the key in and turn? The interior release is hard to fix, because you would have to trace the cable to find out what happened or where it is snagged up or broken.

Thanks for your response. The electronic fob and interior release appear to be making a noise but the trunk won't budge open. Perhaps it is jammed? I don't know whether or not I can get inside the trunk to release it from inside? Any ideas?

The latch may be broken or the assembly burned out. Either way, they probably have to be replaced.
