Engine slows down for a split second while driving highway speed or accelerating.

Asked by tilleyfamily Jul 27, 2015 at 01:52 PM about the 2003 Nissan Xterra SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2003 Nissan Xterra with 115,000 miles has started to slow down (almost feels like you
tap the brake but you didn't) for a split second while going highway speed  (happened
twice on a 5 hour trip) and once while accelerating from a stop. Does anyone have any
ideas on what this could be?
