Why are both Brake and Battery light on in my 04 Altima?

Today my battery and brake light where on in the dashboard and wouldn't go off, my battery is fairly new I got it at the end of 2012 and I did my brakes last year so I'm not sure what's going on. However I have noticed that my temp and compass meter on the rearview mirror is also out and I recently had to replace a blown fuse and bulb for my headlights. Can someone please help me

Sounds like the Alternator is going. Have that checked out first.

I have 2003 altima, my BRAKE & BATTERY lights came on together. I checked alternator, it wasn't that, I changed my belt tensioner and serpentine belt but it wasn't that. I then opened FUSE box next to battery, and checked all fuses. I notice 10 amp fuse labeled 10A-ALT S blown out. I turned off car and changed fuse, PROBLEM fixed. Lights turned off. NOTE: I'm glad I changed belt tensioner cause now my car it's not making GRINDING noise.
