Auto on transfer switch case?

Im needing to buy a transmission for my 2005 4x4 Nissan
pathfinder off road edition but everywhere I go they me if
it has an auto on transfer switch but I'm not sure what
that is or how to find it.. can someone explain this to me?

On the switch, there's 2 wheel drive, 4 high, and 4 low. Then some models have an auto among the selections that functions like an all wheel drive. Look on your switch to see if there's an auto option

if it helps you understand the transfer case at all, I wouldn't drive around town with my transfer case running. It's job basically for a 4WD is that allows both axles to be controlled by differential connection. And it also eats your gas pretty good, too. Keep in mind, took, when your case is activated and the front diff is controlling that axle, it also prevents your from turning sharp turns. good luck
