2005 Nissan Altima completely died while driving down the hwy & now won’t crank

My 2005 Nissan Altima just completely died while
going down the hey and would not crank back up!
Had to have it towed home! It has done this before
a few times but I could put it in N and crank it back
up and just keep going!? But this time it will not
crank at all. When u go to start the car it acts like it
wants to start but never does!? A few times in the
the past couple months it has kinda stalled out
while driving, like i would just be goin down the
road and the rpm gauge would just completely drop
to nothing and it would spit and sputter and then
just pick back up after a few seconds or so? But
now it won’t crank at all!?? Please help!! Does
anyone have an answer for this problem??

Um... well I don’t think that is the problem, but of course I am by far no expert not even close. I very well could be completely wrong! Lol. My question to you tho would be, what made you think that it may be the ignition that is causing what I described?

Oh ok. My husband checked for spark and it looks good. Looked in the oil fill while turning the engine to make sure the timing chain wasn’t broke. Also sprayed some starting fluid into the intake and it ran for a second so we figure the engine is good. We’re looking at a possible fuel problem as far as I can tell.
