97 mustang gt

I have a 97 mustang gt sometimes at a red
light or just sitting still it acts like it wants to
die so i give it a little gas an it runs fine for a
few minutes then back to the way it was
what could it be

Check and clean anything that has to do with idle air system. See if it helps? clean the throttle body if recommended. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?

What grade of gas do you use ? If you use the low grade all the time try using the middle grade every now and then will help keep the fuel delivery system clean or add some fuel cleaner to gas tank.
