How to Disable alarm system

Asked by Donald Oct 02, 2021 at 09:42 PM about the 1997 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 97 ford mustang srs and when I get out of the
vehicle and remove the keys, that's when there's a odd
beeping noise comming from the I do believe it's the
factory alarm system and when I disconnect a plug on it I
can't start the car but the beeping goes away... So I was
wondering how to disable the theft or just remove it
completely? (No it does not have a fob key that I know) So
hopefully someone can help me out with this problem thx

I think you'll need a technician and I wouldn't trust the dealer .

You're not going to be able to disable the factory alarm system. But check the owner's manual. You might be able to shut off the beeping by changing the personal settings, if equipped. Hope that helps! Jim
