i have a automatic eclipse gs 1995, can i turbo it?

if the engine is not designed to handle the power that a turbo will put out, it will just blow up- like a little atomic bomb- with flying flowers and bits of doughnuts and dollar bills and lotsa smoke and lightning-

Agreed with jamn, you have to pep your motor up a little to handle this,hence bore piston bigger.

im looking for soultions to make it faster, as it sits its stock, but i had planed to tear the motor down an have it rebuilt to handle it, my question mostly is will the auto transmission handle it, or is there a swap to one that will, or a manual swap for it
