Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 mitsubishi eclipse will randomly start
to stutter like it is choking until I jerk the
steering wheel to the left fixes it. It also dies
randomly and I have to wait about a minute
to start it back up. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have a bad power steering pressure switch. You may also need to clean a couple other components like your Mass Air Flow sensor and Idle Air Control valve as well....................................... http://www.ehow.com/info_8748803_power-steering-pressure-switch- do.html

It doesnt seem to be the steering left fixing it, more of jerking.the car because I need a little speed to actually jerk the car hard enough.

That sounds like incorrect fuel/air mixture. How does the car idle when you are in traffic or when you first start it up?

It runs beautifully, other than the random dieing and stuttering. I cant find a pattern to it either. Its complete random. Doing 80 on interstate, 50 on backroads, backing out of my driveway. No patterns.

Try removing your MAF and clean that. Is your check engine light on? I would have it scanned for codes. It will give you a good place to start.

The check light actually doesnt light up when I turn the key so couldnt say, I will scan it tomorrow morning and reply with what codes it throws. Thanks for the help!!
