The battery warning light on the dash.. maybe resembles a battery, is on when engine is running?

If it's the battery light then. Check alternator output. Should be around 14.5 volts. Double check you battery terminals. On my wife's 2003 had to replace both cause they would not tighten down all the way. Also check where the negative cable hooks to the frame and motor. These cars tend to corrode in these spots. If it's the check engine light have the codes read at auto zone and post codes back on here.
